Wedding Cakes

Making wedding cakes is my favourite part of the job.

It is an honour and a privilege to make a wedding cake for my client’s special day. I'm delighted that you're reading this, as it means you're considering me to be your wedding cake maker. I absolutely love the whole process – from meeting you both, discussing your dream cake design, inviting you for your cake tasting at our design studio, to putting the final touches on the finished wedding cake at your venue. It is my passion to create visually stunning cakes that are inspired by the natural world around us, by using fresh blooms, stone-like textures, movement and tone, with an emphasis on seasonality and designs that evoke creativity. Each wedding cake is one of a kind.


How it works

ONE

As soon as you have booked your wedding venue, get in touch to check my availability. Dates can book up quickly and I do limit the number of cakes I make each week to ensure I can give each cake the love and attention it deserves. Fill out the contact form on my website,  the more information you can give the better!

TWO

If you know you woud like me to make your wedding cake, you can secure your wedding date with a £125 nonrefundable deposit. We usually finalise the design of your wedding cake closer to the date of your wedding as your ideas and vision can change during the planning process and it’s best to have your colours, flowers and decor style sorted first.

THREE

Once you have secured your date with a deposit, you can relax! I will then get in touch to arrange a consultation and optional cake tasting, which usually takes place between January and April of the year you are getting married.

FOUR

After your consultation, I'll work on finalising a design based on everything we've discussed and update your invoice. Don't worry if things aren't quite right; we can tweak your chosen design until the details are exactly as you want them.

FIVE

We'll discuss the perfect setup for your cake, whether it's a statement plinth or a beautiful stand. I have a range of cake stands, plinths, and other props available for hire to complement your design and give it the 'wow' factor it deserves. I can also work alongside your stylist to ensure your cake becomes the stunning centrepiece of your reception.

SIX

Now the countdown is on to seeing your cake in real life! I will be doing lots of things behind the scenes such as liaising with your florist, stylist and venue. A month prior to your wedding date, your final balance is due. At this point we will confirm everything to make sure it’s all correct and discuss delivery timings for the day. After that, all you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy your big day...oh and make sure you enjoy a slice of cake!

All flavours are priced the same and you can have a different flavour for each tier if you wish. All our wedding cakes are covered in a stable layer of white ganache so they can stay out longer at room temperature, and filled with buttercream and various fillings to compliment the sponge flavour.

  • Prosseco infused Cake + Strawberry & Prosecco Jam + Strawberry Buttercream

  • Almond Cake with Fresh Raspberries + Raspberry Conserve + Vanilla Bean Buttercream

  • Carrot Cake with Pecans + Spiced Orange Buttercream

  • Pistachio Cake with Fresh Raspberries and a touch of Rose + Raspberry Conserve and Raspberry Buttercream

All wedding cakes are covered in an outside layer of white chocolate ganache. Why? Because firstly it’s delicious! But it is also warm weather stable and will hold up much better in hot weather enabling your cake to stay out on show for much longer. Wedding cakes are expensive, so we want your cake to stand pride of place on your wedding day, for your guests to marvel at, and to really give the wow factor to your wedding breakfast.

The inside of your cake is buttercream/jams/curds etc. as expected. We don’t fill out cakes with ganache, we use buttercream on the inside.

Fondant Cakes: 

Fondant cakes are also covered in a thin layer of chocolate ganache (dark or white) which creates a base for smooth edges and sharp corners. 

***We do not recommend cream cheese frosting, mascarpone or fresh cream based cakes for wedding cakes. They are not stable fillings for warm weather and have to be kept in the fridge***

Build Your Own Brownie Stack

For a more personal touch, opt for our "Build Your Own" package. You can collect your brownies one to two days before your wedding and create a unique and delicious dessert display on your special day.

Why do cookies make the best favours?

Cookies can be personalised with any wording and designed to suit the style and theme of your wedding day. The icing and the ribbon can be any colour and you have the option of adding some luxury touches such as edible gold silver leaf or painted detailing.

And of course, they are delicious! I use a Scottish shortbread recipe that is buttery, crisp and full of flavour. They are iced with fondant, impressed with a bespoke stamp and sealed for freshness. You can opt for the addition of a ribbon to finish them off. The perfect sweet treat for your guests to take home and have with a cup of tea the next day as they reminisce about how great the day was.

Personalised cookies are also a wonderful addition for occasions such as engagement parties, bridal showers or even as little touches to guests overnight rooms.
